The design concept of the ecolodge follows nature and sustainable and local materials have been used wherever possible. Nestled in the forest and grasslands, every bespoke living space is specially sited to take advantage of the spectacular views.

Each of the nine spacious bungalows and family villa has been created in harmony with the natural features of the landscape.

Discover an ancient land untouched by time; a haven of serenity in which to reconnect with the rhythms of the earth. Immerse yourself in nature. Soak yourself in local culture. Explore the rich wildlife of Gal Oya, one of Sri Lanka’s most remote and least visited wilderness areas.

Gal Oya encompasses the country’s largest inland body of water, the Senanayake Samudra Lake. Over 25,000 hectares of lush evergreen forest and open savannahs thrive around the calm waters. Its diverse wildlife is best seen on a boat safari, especially the iconic swimming elephants.
