A personal connection to the region
Peacock Tours was founded by Niranjala and Prakash, who were both born and raised in Sri Lanka before making London their home.
Having grown up in different parts of the island, they bring a deep and personal understanding of its landscapes, culture and traditions.
A journey shaped by experience
After moving to the United Kingdom for their studies, Niranjala and Prakash built their careers in London while maintaining a close connection to Sri Lanka, returning regularly over the years.
Their shared passion for food led them to open the award-winning Sri Lankan restaurant Elephant Walk in West Hampstead in 2005. This was followed by the publication of Sri Lanka: The Cookbook, which became the best-selling Sri Lankan cookery book in English and was featured at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
