The day starts at Les Aubineaux – a colonial mansion built in 1872 and a landmark in Mauritian heritage. Then drive along tea fields to Bois Cheri tea factory to discover the secrets of tea before proceeding to the chalet for a traditional tea break. Lunch is served at the plantation house of Saint Aubin, dated 1819. The Domaine is known for its locally grown vanilla, anthurium greenhouse and rum. Continue to La Vanille Nature Park, with its largest group of Aldabra tortoises and a variety of other animals. You may also visit the Insectarium with more than 23,000 specimens.

Highlight: Ebony Forest, Lunch at Kaz’alala, World of Seashell, Plankton (Recycling of Glass), Outgrowing Ltd (Making of Palm Plates).

Visit this sanctuary of rare Ebony trees, a habitat for endangered birds like the Kestrel, Echo Parakeet, and Pink Pigeon with an Eco-Ranger, and plant an endemic sapling or sow seeds. At “Kaz’alala”, nestled amidst a carved-stone historical cottage, enjoy traditional-Mauritian cuisine, made of fresh local products. The day continues to the World of Seashells, a museum whose objective is to sensitize people on the importance of seashells in the food chain and the preservation of the marine ecosystem. The next stop is at a recycling plant to learn how used glass bottles are recycled for construction companies and local artisans, supporting the local economy. Then meet with Francesca in her workshop, where bio-degradable palm plates are made. Some local restaurants have started to collaborate with her to promote sustainable products.

Escape to one of the beautiful islands around Mauritius
Highlight: Full day on Ile aux Cerfs with lunch at Sand Restaurants.

If you are looking for some time at leisure on one of the well-known beaches of Mauritius, do not miss this open-air retreat on Ile aux Cerfs. Stroll down the beaches of this 100-hectare island covered with casuarinas, coconut trees, and flowering shrubs. Enjoy the splendid view, bask in the sun, and explore the waters teeming with marine life.

After checking out from Lux Le Morne a private transfer will take you to the Airport for check-in you will be welcomed by the representatives of Peacock Tours who will thereafter assist you with the check-in for your international flight.
