Yala National Park Jeep Safari
Overview
If you plan to stay in one of the fabulous beach resorts on the South Coast of the island and in close proximity to Yala National Park, then Yala Safari is highly recommended. With your own experienced driver-guide, you could choose either a 3- hour Jeep Safari or a Full Day Jeep Safari and start the day early. As the guide drives through the grassy plains and light forest you will be expected to spot the park’s residents; like monkeys, buffaloes, elephants, deer, and crocodiles. The park is one of the highest concentrated areas in the world for leopards’ habitat.
You will also expect to spot a variety of migratory as well as local birds, too numerous to mention by their names - a true haven for bird watchers.
In addition to the wildlife, the main attraction within the park is ancient ruins and temples dating back to the 5th century B.C. It is to be noted that the park is closed during the drought season between September and mid-October.
