LAKSHADWEEP
Overview
Lakshadweep Islands are one of the least visited yet one of the most beautiful and serene places in India. There are a total of 36 islands, 12 atolls, and three reefs spread over some 30,000 square miles in the Laccadive Sea, off the west coast of Kerala State. Only 10 of these islands are inhabited and only a few are open to visitors with permits required to travel to this archipelago.
Lakshadweep Islands is one of India’s eight Union Territories and one of the least visited yet one of the most beautiful and serene places in India. The islands have a lot to offer from clean beaches and well-managed resorts to abundant greenery. There are numerous water sports and diving activities to choose from or simply relax and recuperate in isolation.
You can enjoy good nightlife at Lakshadweep Island too, Bangaram Island is the only Island that serves alcohol. Barbeque and cultural dances are arranged at your request.
You can reach Lakshadweep only via Kochi in Kerala State and there are flights and ships to Lakshadweep from Kochi. Flights take about 1 hour and 25 minutes from Kochi Airport to Agatti Airport in Agatti Island, the only airport in Lakshadweep. Aircrafts are small and they have limited capacity and passengers are recommended to travel light.
Seven passenger ships are operating from Kochi to Lakshadweep and takes 14 to 18 hours depending on the island chosen for the trip.
The most popular islands to visit are Agatti Island, Kalpeni Islands, Kadmat Islands, Bangaram Island, and Thinnakara Island. All islands have several restaurants and eateries near the beaches serving delicious seafood dishes all night.

AGATTI ISLAND
Scuba diving, snorkelling, and other water sports are available on the island. Admire the flora, fauna, and natural beauty as you walk along miles-long beaches. Bioluminescent Plankton commonly known as glow worms is visible in the night.
KALPENI ISLANDS
For those who want a harmonious blend of fun mixed with an equal amount of adventure, Kalpeni Islands presents them with a plethora of adventurous water sports. KADMAT ISLAND
Kadmat Island, this long and narrow island also known as Cardamom Island, is a coral island. This spectacular island is surrounded by an entrancing lagoon on one side. This incredible fishing spot shouldn’t be missed if you love fishing. The island can be reached through a short helicopter ride from Agatti Island.
KAVARATTI ISLAND
With white sandy beaches, unique corals, turquoise lagoons, and endless greenery Kavaratti Island is the most popular destination in Lakshadweep.
