Region

Karnataka

Location

Kabini - Takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes by road from Mysore Airport

Overview

Set in a prime location on the banks of Kabini River and Nagarhole National Park on the west of the river all 30 suites offer very comfortable accommodation on 15 acres of grounds. The inspiration for the lodges comes from the mud-walled thatched dwellings of the local tribe the Kadu Kurubas. All the 30 suites are rustically finished in a traditional safari style but with plenty of luxury facilities and ample space.

The wildlife sanctuary of Nagarhole National Park is home to the mighty tiger, leopards, elephants, gaurs, wild dogs, monkeys, and over 270 species of exotic birds, one of the most extraordinary wildlife reserves in India.

Complete with an infinity pool overlooking the wild Kabini River, there is also a fully functioning Ayurvedic spa on site, whether you require a simple rejuvenation massage or full treatments, the doctors and therapists are on hand to recharge your mind, body, and spirit.

Both restaurants offer pretty surroundings and provide fresh, local produce. The fine dining restaurant, Honeycomb, named after the honey-gathering Kuruba tribe, provides a truly picturesque lakeside venue. The larger Kuruba Grill provides excellent barbeques near the lake. Have your very own candle-lit cruise on the in-house rice boat where you will listen to the sounds of the river as your private chef creates your very own private dining experience.

The well-trained and efficient staff can help arrange a handful of excursions including birdwatching, coracle boat rides, or a tribal village visit.
